Stitching before shooting - Congo VR

The visual study of the Panorama of Congo has started with the study of postcards: we gathered, scanned and stitched color and black and white postcards. The exercise of stitching these images was useful to imagine the process and original order of the paintings that form the Panorama du Congo, by Paul Mathieu and Alfred Bastien. Before working with the high-resolution images of the Panorama, the process of stitching the postcard images and putting them together in a circular image has been very rewarding.

Several new details have been revealed, allowing new queries and research in the archives. Finally, next step will be to photograph the Panorama (1600 square meters) and capture new and unstudied details.
